Your new job
The position of Enhanced Access toMental Health in Schools Clinician is part of a multidisciplinary approach to Mental Health care for young people. The incumbent is responsible for providing clinical triage, intake, advice, support, advocacy, assessment and brief intervention services in order to enhance the physical and Mental Health outcomes of young people with Mental Health conditions living in the community.
You will:
  • With regular supervision, provide clinical psychological assessment, formulation and individual intervention for a variety of Mental Health issues to young persons referred to headspace.

  • Participate in regular clinical case review meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure appropriate, consistent and coordinated service pathways and service delivery response for young people and their families/carers.
  • Effectively communicate with all key stakeholders, providing appropriate coordination, liaison and referral as appropriate for those students
What you’ll need
You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:
  • Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (such as psychology, social work, occupational therapy, nursing) and full registration with AHPRA or eligibility for registration with AASW.
  • Able to demonstrate competence in provision of Mental Health care, including completion of Mental Health assessments; risk assessment and crisis intervention/safety planning; evidence based individual and group interventions to young people experiencing Mental Health and/or substance use problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine and plan for a young person’s recovery and support needs, employing a shared-decision making approach.
