Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is excited to announce a permanent opportunity for an Environmental Officer to assist in the environmental management and compliance of the operations at the Burton Complex.
About the role:
This is a permanent, full-time position offering an 8/6 roster with preferably DIDO Mackay however FIFO Brisbane will be considered. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a junior environmental professional to have wide exposure across an operation. There is a flat management structure meaning you will be liaising with leadership team and will achieve broad visibility.
Working back-to-back with a Specialist and supported from Brisbane corporate office your duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Contribute to ensuring operations comply with all environmental regulations and uphold the Environmental Authority (EA).
- Participate in environmental monitoring programs for flora, fauna, dust, blasting, water, and more.
- Manage land rehabilitation and closure processes to meet environmental requirements.
- Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental engineering, environmental science, or equivalent.
- Practical experience within the mining industry (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
