  • Permanent Full /Time opportunity (9 day fortnight)
  • Tertiary qualification in Community Development, social science, social work or related discipline is desirable, or considerable experience in a similar position  
  • LGO4 ($77,409 - $82,974 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience

About the Role

Are you passionate about collaborating with your local community to facilitate meaningful Community Development projects ? Council is seeking two enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the Inclusive Communities team as Community Development Officers.

The Community Development Officer is responsible for the delivery of council’s Community Development programs which encompasses building connections and partnerships with the community, internal departments, other government and non-government agencies and key community groups.

About You

To be successful for this role, you will have a relevant qualification and/or considerable experience in Community Development, community work, social science, human services, social work or related discipline.

Excellent communication skills and confidence in building connection and partnership's with community members/groups, internal departments, government agencies and NGO’s with experience delivering community-based projects that promote community wellbeing, sense of belonging, inclusion and liveability. Demonstrated strong capability in the use of the Microsoft suite of programs.

* The Council contribution to employees' superannuation for contributing employees shall be 13.5% of the employees' ordinary time earnings subject to the employee contributing a minimum of 6% of their ordinary time earnings.
