About the role
As a result of rapid growth, SKIPZ is on the lookout for a full-time on-site role for an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager.
In this critical role you will use your knowledge and expertise to provide ongoing guidance and support to all areas of our business. This will be achieved by partnering with internal and external stakeholders and ensuring that all SKIPZ teams are aware of, and meeting, requirements.
You will be responsible for management and maintenance of all EH&S systems, policies, procedures and risk management strategies.
This role will be the key contact point for our business when dealing with external statutory bodies, with a key focus on NHVR responsibilities of our vehicle fleet.
You must be hands-on - you will be working alongside our operations teams, leading, training and guiding them, and will be expected to undertake incident investigations, site audits and follow up on action items.
About you
- Occupational Health and Safety Training skills.
- Strong experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS).
- Knowledge of NHVR requirements.
- Accident Investigation skills.
- Documentation control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to train and influence other teams.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify Health and Safety risks.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environment Health and Safety, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in the waste management and recycling industry is a plus.
