This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Council’s Project Management Office as the Environmental Project Officer. This role will work closely with subject matter experts, project sponsors, project managers, external stakeholders, and The Wagga Wagga Community to develop effective relationships that contribute to the investigation, reporting, developing and delivery of projects and programs.

Your new role:
This position is responsible for the provision of quality cultural and environmental investigation, development and preparation of reports for all capital and forward works projects and programs associated with Council’s civil infrastructure and environmental projects such as buildings, roads, parks, solid waste, stormwater and sewer.
Key responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Investigate, develop, and prepare all environmental plans associated and required for Council projects and forward works programs.
- Project manage the delivery of Council’s environmental assets.
- Prepare and review correspondence, reports (e.g. REF) and plans (e.g. Environmental, erosion and sediment control plans) including inspections to ensure environmental compliance.
- Prepare and review environmental strategies to deliver projects and programs from Council’s long term strategic and financial plans.
What you will need to succeed:
In order to be successful in this role, you must possess a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in environmental investigations, preparation of reports and plans for civil infrastructure projects.
You will have solid experience in environmental project management and strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will be able to negotiate, influence and consult with a wide range of stakeholders and you will be expected to be tertiary qualified in Environmental Studies.
