About the role
Elevate your career by stepping into this key Environmental Project Officer role, enabling you to share your expertise within a supportive team culture and innovative organisation.
This role will see the successful candidate lead and drive environmental compliance by applying their professional experience in environmental science principles to work collaboratively within the City Infrastructure Directorate.
As an Environmental Project Officer, and in collaboration with the Section Leader of Asset Services, you will support relevant stakeholders to interpret environmental legislation to ensure compliance throughout all stages of the City's projects; consult and work together with the City's designers, project managers, planners, construction and maintenance staff to deliver maintenance and capital works programs; undertake environmental assessments and onsite audits, and obtain all relevant approvals and permits needed to achieve completion of the works programs.

Do you have these key attributes?
- Demonstrated understanding of best practice management for environmental compliance
- Proven knowledge of relevant legislation relating to cultural heritage
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders across a range of platforms
- Knowledge and experience of Part 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act
- Skills to manage and prioritise tasks.

Essentials Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related discipline
- Extensive demonstrated experience in environmental assessment and management of environmental and cultural heritage issues
- General Construction Induction Training (Whitecard)
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
Desirable
- Previous experience in Local Government
- Experience in managing ecological plans.
