TORRA are seeking an Environmental Projects Officer to join our clients dedicated Environment & Development team.
The Role:
As our Environmental Projects Officer, you'll be integral to managing environmental concerns within quarry operations. From overseeing routine site inspections to coordinating sustainability projects, you'll apply your technical expertise to ensure compliance and sustainability in a quarry environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate environmental monitoring activities tailored to quarry operations, including air quality, noise, and water management.
• Implement erosion and sediment control measures specific to quarry environments.
• Oversee land management projects within quarry sites, including biodiversity offset areas.
• Drive operational environmental management activities, including waste diversion and recovery initiatives.
• Support project approvals for future quarry development projects, navigating the NSW planning approvals system.
Requirements:
• Tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering, or related field.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with quarry management and external stakeholders.
• Proven problem-solving abilities in resolving environmental challenges within industrial settings.
• Knowledge of relevant WHS procedures and protocols.
• Experience in environmental, mining, or quarrying industries (desirable).
