Estimator | Civil/Design background

We are seeking a talented and experienced Estimator with a background in design or civil excavation to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

Position Overview: As an Estimator with a design or civil background, you will play a pivotal role in our project planning and execution process. You will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of projects, ensuring they align with our clients' expectations, industry standards, and our commitment to quality design. Your design expertise will enable you to evaluate project requirements, materials, and labor, providing valuable insights to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with our design and project management teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Utilize your design background to assess project designs, ensuring they are both functional and cost-effective.
• A civil excavation background would also be beneficial to the role in question.
• Prepare detailed and accurate project cost estimates, taking into consideration materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors.
• Analyze and compare subcontractor and supplier bids, negotiate pricing, and select the best partners for each project.
• Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, pricing, and industry standards to provide accurate estimates.
• Assist in the development of project budgets and timelines.
• Communicate effectively with clients, presenting estimates and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Monitor and update estimates as projects progress, ensuring cost accuracy throughout.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in design, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience as an Estimator, with a background in design or civil, within the major infrastructure sector.
• Proficiency in design software and tools. (Wallap, Plaxis)
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with project management software is a plus.
