About the role…
We’re expanding our team and looking for a skilled Events Manager, with a minimum 2 years agency experience. The ideal candidate will have outstanding organisation skills, a great eye for detail and is an individual who thrives on managing meetings and events from concept through to successful execution and final wrap-up.
This position is based at our HO in Wollongong.
Our ideal candidate…
- Must have a minimum 2 years event management agency experience
- Diploma or Degree in Event Management or equivalent (highly regarded)
- Outstanding interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised and enjoys working in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines, managing multiple events and sometimes in high pressure situations
- Demonstrates strong team leadership skills and able to effectively train, delegate and coordinate staff
- Displays a mature can-do attitude, takes the initiative and has a firm commitment to job ownership
- Strong administration skills and the ability to manage a project budget
- Experienced user of Events Air and proficient in Microsoft Office
- A keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail
- A creative flair and an interest in event technology
- Works well and collaboratively with multiple teams including clients, venues, vendors and management
- Professional grooming and presentation
- Able to work flexibly when needed, including after-office hours and weekends
- Able to travel nationally and internationally.
Essential experience criteria.
You will have proven experience in the following…
- Working with clients to develop, coordinate and implement their meetings and events from concept through to onsite execution and after-meeting follow up and this includes,
- Experience managing association and not-for-profit conferences will be highly regarded
- Tender document submission
- Creating and developing program timeline and meeting deadlines accordingly
- Venue sourcing
- Tracking and reviewing hotel room nights and spend
- Writing and editing event print material
- Sponsorship sales and management
- Abstract management
- Conference and speaker program development
- Guiding creative team on design and styling of conference websites, apps and printed materials
- Online conference registrations
- Complete administration including preparation and follow up of proposals, budgeting, invoicing and managing payments to ensure delivery of profitable meeting, incentives and events
- Liaison with stakeholders to ensure that all meeting/event details are accurately captured, communicated and that all tasks are actioned accordingly
- Management of all meeting/event enquiries in a prompt and professional manner
- Providing onsite support at meeting/event venue - liaison with clients, suppliers and venue teams
