Event Manager

Reporting line

The position reports to the General Manager/Director

Main Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

●       Market and promote function capabilities of Lobster Shack, Cervantes

●       Liaise as directed with potential customers for their specific requirements, including purpose and type of function, menu, beverage requirements, sequence of service, timing, entertainment, room set up and type of service

●       Provide advice and suggestions to event clientele as required

●       Consult with external service providers, such as entertainers, as necessary

●       Confirm function with customer, record details and communication and coordinate with all internal departments

●       Ensure that adequate staff members are rostered for duty and instruct catering staff on menu

●       Refer final presentation and function details and costing to management

●       Undertake stock ordering for events as required and maintain adequate stock levels

●       Manage, train, hire and supervise functions staff to ensure they meet the required standards of service, safety and hygiene

●       Coordinate staff to ensure each event runs smoothly and on time

●       Find solutions to unforeseen problems that may arise during the course of the event

●       Manage financial transactions for events

●       Set, review and keep to event budgets

●       Handle customer complaints, follow-ups and enquiries related to events

●       Develop and execute promotions, events and functions to increase revenue

●       Collect and analyse data on events undertaken, and report on outcomes to management

●       Ensure neat, clean and functionally operating outlets are well presented at all times.

●       Assist the Manager in their duties as and when required.

• 1 year of relevant work experience required for this role
• Working rights required for this role
• Expected salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year
