Mt Gravatt Street Food and Mt Gravatt Markets are looking for a motivated and self-driven candidate with excellent organisational & communication skills along with a keen eye for detail. The role involves managing our Saturday night Street Food Market on the 1st and 3rd Saturday nights of each month, and assisting with the running of our Sunday Markets on the 2nd, 4th and occasionally 5th Sunday mornings of the month. Through the week the role involves a range of administrative tasks, responding to stall holder applications via email or over the phone and assisting with weekend market preparations.
The role is hands on over the weekend, making sure the markets are set up and run smoothly. Very early starts on a Sunday morning are also required.
The role entails approximately 15-20 hours per week.
Both markets provide a fun and vibrant environment to work in on weekends.
The Ideal Candidate:
The role reports directly to the Market owners.
You will have an RMLV and 3 years’ experience in managing events with a proven track record. A First Aid Certificate would also be useful. You love interacting with people and enjoy working outdoors and have experience running a Bar.
Excellent communication skills are a must, as you will be dealing with staff, stall holders and patrons to ensure a positive experience is had by all.
A keen eye for detail is essential to make sure each set up or pack down is done correctly in preparation for the following market.
The candidate should be comfortable managing staff and be able to clearly instruct staff as required. They will also be responsible for managing bar stock and supplies.
A creative and innovative disposition is required as we are always looking to improve our processes. We'd love to hear your ideas.
