We are looking for a Coordinator to join our professional development team; this role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney!

About the role

The Professional Development team is responsible for the development of most events for Engineers Australia. This role is responsible for ensuring the events program provides quality & meaningful experiences for participants, sponsors and exhibitors. The operational capability and performance of the team which includes collaborating with key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes is critical to the success of the program. Overall, the Professional Development (PD) team is responsible for the development and execution of Awards, Continual Professional Development (CPD) via various event and education delivery formats on offer to members and the wider engineering community as well as supporting internal business units with event delivery.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with team members to build and maintain strong relationships within the Member and Customer team, more broadly across EA, developing positive partnerships, including Marketing, Communications, Digital & Technology, Facilities, Business Growth, Policy & Advocacy, Divisions, Member Services, Finance, EEA and Office Bearers, volunteers, and members
  • Coordinate service standards, policies, and procedures with team members, volunteers, and office bearers
  • Utilize volunteer network for event planning and execution.
  • Ensure high-quality customer service at award events.
  • Maintain accurate data records.
  • Provide training to new team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with the broader Professional Development team when necessary


Here’s what we’re looking for:

  •  You have a background in event with responsibility for service delivery.
  • You are comfortable with managing multiple projects at once, building strong relationships across a broad range of stakeholders, developing networks in, and establish credibility with, internal and external stakeholders
  • You have expertise in:  Conference & event delivery and event operations, Planning and executing effectively, with a high level of attention to detail, Well-developed computing skills including experience in virtual and in-person events,  Working with volunteers and various stakeholders
