We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and energetic events management professional to support the Enrolments and Community Relations team in the role of Events Coordinator.
The Events Coordinator is responsible to the Director of Enrolments & Community Relations for the School’s community and alumni events (including the Old Girls’ Association) and plays a key role in developing and supporting professional events that alight with the School’s brand and image.
With the diverse needs of the Department, this role requires a willingness to be flexible with time and task variety, the ability to prioritise work efficiently, ability to work with discretion and confidentiality and a commitment to teamwork. Key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, implementing, and executing events, both physical and virtual that promote the School brand.
- Working closely with the Director to develop, implement and coordinate effective programs focused on building, maintaining, and developing key relationships to meet the strategic objects of engaging with alumni.
This is a part-time role (60 hrs. per fortnight) and there is some flexibility regarding workdays and time however the requirement to support events outside of traditional School hours is a core requirement of the position. This could include nighttime and weekend functions where your work hours will shift to support the delivery of School functions such as International Women’s Day functions, Thank You events, School tours, Old Girls events, etc.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
To be successful in this role, it is envisaged that you will be highly organised, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude, as well as:
- Tertiary qualifications in Events Management, or a related field, and/or a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating or assisting in the coordination of special events, including the ability to effectively communicate with key internal and external stakeholders to plan and deliver events.
- Proven experience in fund and friend raising with demonstrated ability and experience in negotiating outcomes, customer services and stakeholder liaison would be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding and application of the Microsoft Office suite of software products including word, excel, power point, outlook and website content management systems or other relevant software applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including the correct use of English punctuation, grammar, and corporate styling.
- Proven high level of interpersonal skills with a collaborative and consultative approach to working in a highly effective team.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- High level of personal integrity, professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, and initiative
- Be the holder of, or can obtain, a Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card).
