The Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) is the national not-for-profit peak body representing planning and the planning profession. The organisation provides events, education programs, and policy and advocacy campaigns for members to inspire planners and elevate their role in shaping Australia’s future.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to lead and manage the major events for the organisation across NSW and ACT. You will collaborate with the Event Coordinator to ensure the successful delivery of PIA’s events program, communications oversight, and member support.
About You
You will be an experienced Events Manager, who takes initiative, has high attention to detail, is process-driven, and can manage multiple competing priorities. You will be a driven, committed team player with a passion for building key stakeholder relationships.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Plan, execute and promote annual Events programs across NSW & ACT.
- Manage the delivery of major events eg. Annual State Conference & Awards Gala
- Organise and coordinate logistics of events i.e. venues, vendors, caterers, suppliers etc.
- Source and build key relationships and partnerships with presenters, speakers, sponsors etc
- Oversee and develop events marketing and communication materials.
- Manage and oversee events expenditure and budget.
- Maintain the database, and conduct reporting and ad hoc duties.
- Experience in managing events, conferences, or educational programs.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of initiative.
- Process-driven, strong time management and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional relationship management and professional stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Driven, passionate and a collaborative team player.
- Experience with CRM systems and database management.
