About the Department
This federal government department work connects and enriches every Australian community, underpins our economy and society, and empowers our regions.
The First Nations Partnerships Division contributes and supports the coordination, reporting and alignment of whole-of-government's First Nations priorities, which includes the National Agreement on Closing the Gap (CtG) and actions outlined in the department's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
The First Nations Partnerships Division supports the required organisational cultural shift to active consideration of First Nations peoples to drive participation in partnership with First Nations peoples, communities and organisations.
About the Role
The department is looking for someone who has the relevant experience and can hit the ground running as the have a number of events and projects they're expecting to deliver over the next 6 months.
Essentially, they are after an experienced APS 6 or EL1 for an initial period of 6 months, who would work across two branches in the First Nations Partnerships Division, with the primary focus of the role being project management and event coordination.
The role will be required to carry out the following functions:
  • Research, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate project or team initiatives, including project management approaches and tracking.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of events and activities, including National Reconciliation Week, First Nations Conference, Managers Forum and any First Nations related events. This includes managing all event logistics and facilitate speaker events.
  • Organise in-house workshops, events and any communication activities as required.
