  • Metropolitan Operations Service

Metropolitan Operations Service (MOS) provides a 24/7 policing response across the metropolitan area of Adelaide. MOS comprises of four Districts (Eastern, Western, Southern and Northern) Public Transport Safety, and Operations Mandrake and Meld. Each District has Response, District Policing Team, Criminal Investigation, and Community and Engagement functions.

The Assistant Commissioner MOS is the portfolio owner and is responsible for directing the policing effort to achieve the South Australian Police vision of Safer Communities. A one team mindset is applied across the Service to ensure the provision of quality policing services that are highly visible and responsive to the community needs and expectations.

  • State Operations Service

The State Operations Service is responsible for the provision of high quality policing services to the regional communities of South Australia; road safety policing across regional and metropolitan South Australia; and for the operations of the State Operations Support Branch. We have a strong focus on being highly visible, professional and responsive to community needs. This is achieved through competent leadership and coordination; training and the provision of a problem solving approach when responding to calls for assistance. We strive for service excellence in everything we do.

The Executive Assistant (EA) is accountable to the Assistant Commissioner for the provision of high level, confidential secretarial, administrative and research support services thereby contributing to the achievement of Service objectives.

The EA will be required to strategically manage the plans, schedules and information flow for the Assistant Commissioner based on their goals and priorities.

This position will frequently liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including those who may have sensitive and confidential requirements, necessitating a high level of integrity and professionalism. Additionally, the position will require the collation of data and insights to provide sound recommendations, undertake project work, and assist with the broader deliverables of a small team that supports the Assistant Commissioner as required.

The incumbent must have a high level of stakeholder engagement and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Executive Assistant will demonstrate initiative and be able to proactively anticipate ahead, the needs of the Assistant Commissioner. Has excellent verbal and written communication skills, business acumen, highly organised with a strong focus on attention to detail, be resilient and highly adaptable, the ability to think laterally, and be proficient in Microsoft Office.

The EA position will provide a significant contribution to the productivity and outcomes aligned to the respective Service area, the Metropolitan Operations Service and the State Operations Service.

Special Conditions

The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.

The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.

Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.

The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.

Salary

ASO4 - $75,430 - $79,070 per annum.
