About the opportunity
The Education Engagement team in the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education (DVCE) is looking for a Executive Assistant and Project Officer to provide the full suite of professional executive support services to Pro Vice-Chancellor, Education-Enterprise and Engagement (PVC EEE). As the first point of contact for the PVC EEE, the role is required to exercise tact, and ensure confidentiality while maintaining a client focused approach to resolving matters that arise. The role provides administrative and operational support to the wider EEE team in the delivery of a broad range of activities and tasks to meet established deliverables.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
provide broad, high level professional executive support to the PVC EEE and effectively manages the general day to day office operations and administration activity
build and manage effective working rapport with key stakeholders and staff across the University and with external stakeholders
provide Project Officer support for delivery of school projects
provide area-specific administration services and support
manage the general day to day operations and administration activities for the area
ensure quality application of, and compliance with, University administration policies and procedures
undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.
About you
tertiary qualifications and/or the equivalent in training and experience
ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, with extensive diary management experience
excellent administrative, problem solving and analytic skills, coupled with a general understanding of the project life cycle, project documentation and monitoring, project standards and methodologies
excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes
excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service
well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills
ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
