We are looking for an experienced, proactive and dynamic Executive Assistant with great business acumen and the ability to succeed in a multi-faceted role, to provide high-level support to our Chief Executive and President. The position will perform a diverse range of advanced secretarial and administrative functions, including complex diary management, prompt, courteous and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Local Government NSW (LGNSW) is the peak body for councils and related organisations in our State. LGNSW advocates on behalf of members and their communities on policy to decision makers at state and federal levels. We also provide a comprehensive range of services including industrial relations representation, management services and training.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will act as the point of contact to analyse and action requests, prioritising urgent and often sensitive matters. Key aspects of the role will involve:
Managing complex diaries, including scheduling, negotiating appointments, and organising associated travel and accommodation arrangements.
Coordinating meetings and council visits, liaising with general manager offices, and preparing briefing packages in consultation with other LGNSW staff.
Managing, preparing, and reviewing high-level complex communications, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Maintaining systems for recording and storing information.
Exercising professional and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality, and acting with discretion.

About you
You will have an outgoing yet firm personality and be organised with the ability to adapt your workload to manage competing priorities to meet the needs of the business. You will have experience coordinating meetings, organising and collating agendas and providing confidential minute-taking. Your strengths will be your ability to negotiate and prioritise the Chief Executive and President’s schedule, given heavy workloads, tight deadlines, and conflicting commitments.
Essential Requirements
Substantial experience supporting a Chief Executive, President, Mayor or senior executive manager or equivalent.
High degree of professionalism and judgement with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate and liaise effectively and sensitively at all levels, both internally and externally.
Ability to balance conflicting priorities and to work to deadlines.
Advanced knowledge and experience in Outlook, MS Office, and records management systems, experience with Content Manager is desirable.
