About the Racing Gaming and Liquor Directorate
The Racing, Gaming and Liquor Directorate are responsible for regulating and maintaining the integrity of racing, gambling and Liquor activities for Western Australians to participate in, and the administration and functions of a number of boards and committees within the Racing and Gaming portfolio. There are a number of key projects being delivered within the Directorate including the Banned Drinkers Register trial, Liquor Reform, Perth Casino Royal Commission Implementation, and Gambling Legislation Reform.
About the role
We have one fixed term, full time (75 hrs p/f) position available as Executive Director Racing Gaming and Liquor (RGL) for an initial period of 12 months with the possibility of further terms and permanency.
As Executive Director RGL you will be responsible for regulatory oversight and building the capacity, outcome and integrity of the racing, Gaming and Liquor portfolio within DLGSC. As a key part of the department’s corporate executive team, the Executive Director RGL provides leadership and direction across the department and has responsibility for portfolio, departmental and whole of government priorities and directives.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of effective regulatory practices and principles, demonstrate the ability to provide and deliver regulatory oversight, and drive reform while inspiring strategic focus within the directorate.
You will represent DLGSC as required, modelling the department’s values in this leadership role. You will provide support to the Deputy Director General in effective management and corporate governance, particularly towards statutory functions delivered on behalf of two regulatory authorities.

This role is based at 140 William Street, Perth.
