The Department of Justice and Attorney-General (DJAG) works towards justice for all Queenslanders through safe, fair and responsible community outcomes. In this newly created role you will provide expert leadership shaping the department's long term strategic direction through a best practice approach to governance, planning and strategy driven by high level engagement. Your extensive experience in a large organisation will assist you to navigate the intricacies of this diverse and complex portfolio.
As a strategic leader you will drive the creation of sound governance arrangements, policies and practices that not only meet current needs but also consider future imperatives for the Justice Portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to shape the landscape, as the role is specifically designed to enhance capability and establish a new standard for excellence in governance and performance.
Supported by your team and two direct reports you will identify and mitigate emerging issues, ensuring the department operates with foresight and resilience. As a seasoned professional, you will guide the development and maintenance of robust policy and Governance frameworks, strategically aligning them with the department's overarching goals and priorities.
Leveraging your expertise in strategic planning, you will contribute to initiatives and strategies for the department's long-term direction as well as facilitate key processes including annual reporting and Parliamentary Estimates Committee Hearings. Your ability to negotiate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across this portfolio, as well as across Government, will contribute to a system wide approach to improving outcomes for Queenslanders.
