Football Victoria (FV) is the governing body for football (soccer) in Victoria with a clear purpose to inspire and enable Victorians from all walks of life to live and love football, for life.
As a member federation of Football Australia and through the national body's affiliation with FIFA (Federation of International Football Associations), we look after the administration, promotion and delivery of football and futsal (indoor football) across the state including:

- amateurs

Our team of more than 70 people helps to deliver over 40,000 football matches every football season, through the scheduling of annual fixtures and by setting appropriate rules of competition. We also support our appointed match officials, alongside the many thousands of club volunteers, in playing a vital role in making the game happen week in, week out.
Due to some internal changes and investment into our people, a fantastic opportunity is now available for an Executive Manager – High Performance & Pathways to join our team on full time basis.
Reporting directly to the CEO and located at the world class Home of The Matilda’s in Bundoora, the role is responsible for playing a critical role in leading and managing FV’s high-performance programs and talent pathways, with a focus on identifying, developing, and nurturing participants (players, coaches, and referees) to achieve excellence across the game. The role will oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of high-performance initiatives, working collaboratively with coaches, athletes, support staff, and key stakeholders to optimize performance outcomes and maximize success.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Provide visionary leadership and direction to coaches, athletes, and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Talent Identification and Development:
- Lead the identification and recruitment of talented athletes, utilizing scouting networks and talent identification programs.
- Design and implement athlete development pathways, providing tailored training, coaching, and support to optimize athlete development and performance progression.
- Club Support in respect to Technical and High Performance
- Ensuring engagement and collaboration with clubs with a view to monitoring and mentoring on talent identification and pathway development
- Coaching and Athlete Support:
- Collaborate with coaches and support staff to develop individualized athlete development plans, incorporating physical, technical, tactical, and psychological aspects of performance.
- Sports Science and Technology:
- Oversee the integration of sports science, technology, and data analytics into high-performance programs, leveraging advanced technologies and tools to enhance athlete performance, injury prevention, and recovery strategies.
- Performance Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of high-performance programs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to address performance gaps.
- Athlete Welfare and Well-being:
- Prioritize the welfare and well-being of athletes, implementing policies, procedures, and support mechanisms to safeguard their physical, mental, and emotional health.
- Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with national governing bodies, sports federations, clubs, schools, and other stakeholders to facilitate athlete pathways, talent development initiatives, and competition opportunities.

- Outstanding organisational skills and demonstrated experience of ethical and integrity-based leadership

- Outstanding verbal and written skills that focus on key drivers and strategic outcomes
- Sporting industry experience
