SalaryAn exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced Chef at Heritage Gardens Café, a unique & beautiful destination café set in the grounds of the nursery. This business has experienced significant growth over the past few years, with both a la carte and also high tea bookings and has become a busy destination café and restaurant.
We require an enthusiastic & Experienced Chef to join our team and oversee kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will possess a flair for pastry and baking, seamlessly transitioning between roles within our café and restaurant environment. Alongside managing the day-to-day kitchen duties, you will collaborate closely with our head chef, contributing to the preparation of our diverse menu offerings and desserts on a rotational basis. - Excellent communication skills
- Previous experience in both general and pastry menu
- Be willing to work in a team environment in a small open kitchen
- But most of all you must have high standards in EVERYTHING you do
Our café serves breakfast, lunch, morning & afternoon tea & also high tea.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing kitchen operations and assigning staff
- Preparing and cooking food according to menu and dietary requirements
- Monitoring quality and quantities of supplies & fresh stock
- Creating and preparing a diverse range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, including cakes, cookies, pies, and bread
- Developing new recipes and innovative pastry creations while ensuring consistency and quality
- Maintaining hygiene of kitchen to ensure food and workplace safety is maintained
- Ensuring seasonal menus are followed accurately and orders are served in timely manner at the required standard
- Participating with menu planning, updating, and preparing weekly specials
- Planning and ordering stock and supplies within a budget
- Training, demonstrating and leading junior kitchen staff and trainees
Own transport essential as there is no public transport
Hours 7.30-3.30 Wednesday-Sunday negotiable
