With a strong team culture, Greenslopes Anaesthesia Services has an enviable reputation for achieving great things: for our doctors, the surgeons they work with and for our administration team. We are seeking a highly organised person with medical experience to join our great administration team.
Based at Greenslopes Private Hospital, we:
- manage our doctors’ bookings for theatres/surgeons including regular lists, leave cover and on-call rosters;
- provide patients with administrative information regarding their upcoming procedure including estimates of their fees and gaining informed financial consent;
- prepare invoices for procedures performed, lodging invoices with health funds and/or distributing to patients; and
- liaise with patients, doctors, surgeons’ rooms and health funds to resolve queries.
How can you help? Our practice is continuing to grow. With over 40 doctors working at multiple hospitals across Brisbane for more than 200 surgeons, diary management is a critical task. We need someone to join our Bookings team who has experience relating to:
- Organising the daily rosters of our anaesthetists to keep calendars accurate and up-to-date;
- Managing and assigning new anaesthetic requests from surgeons;
- Arranging short notice/emergency anaesthetic cover; and
- Liaising with our anaesthetists and their surgeons as the first point of contact.
As a member of a small team, you may be called upon to support your team members in all other areas of the practice’s patient and doctor administration as noted above.
Skills that will be important to perform this role well are:
- High attention to detail and ability to multi-task is critical;
- Ability to communicate with doctors in friendly, professional manner
- Prior experience in a medical practice working with multiple doctors – ideally anaesthesia;
- Familiar with medical procedures and terminology; and
- Ability to work within a high pace environment with daily deadlines.
