Are you a skilled Farming Manager within the cotton industry looking for an exciting role?
Our client a reputable agribusiness within 15km from the town of St George, QLD is looking for a skilled working Farm Manager to join their team. The property spans over 18,890 hectares with 4,000 hectares of irrigation, 8000 hectares of winter crop production, and 5,000 breeding ewes. As the Farm Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the daily operations of our client's property. You will collaborate with the General Manager to contribute to the success of our client's farming enterprise.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the property, including irrigation and crop production
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager to develop and implement farm operation plans, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
- Lead and mentor a team of staff, fostering a positive and safe work environment
- Develop and implement plans for farm operations; including property developments and irrigation management
- Record keeping in line with business requirements and auditing requirements
To be considered for this role we will be looking for the following attributes:
- Extensive experience with irrigated broad-acre cropping, including cotton, cereals, and fodder crops
- Experience with cotton – using modern farming machinery and GPS technology
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and promoting a culture of workplace safety
- Record keeping, including manual and software – essential
- Solid communication skills
- Has a strong work ethic in addition to possessing excellent problem–solving skills;
- Is honest, reliable, organised, and self-motivated
- Possess a current Chemcert Certificate
- Welding Fabrication is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge is highly desirable
- MC or HC licence advantageous
