Working as a cooperative model, they prioritise the needs and interests of their farmers, with the aim of creating a more resilient and prosperous agricultural community.The PositionDue to rapid growth, IIF is now seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join their team as their Farmer Engagement Lead. The position will play a pivotal role in building and nurturing key relationships with farmers. You will be their dedicated point of contact, ensuring their needs are understood as well as to provide the ongoing support and resources necessary for their success.You will also be instrumental in fostering a sense of community and collaboration among farmers and members. IIF looks to partner with best practice farmers and industry associations and use data to assist in decision making.Key responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with key farmers
- Implement effective communication strategies to keep farmers informed and engaged
- Conduct regular needs assessments to understand the evolving needs and challenges faced by farmers
- Plan and execute engaging events, workshops, and networking opportunities for potential new farmers
- Provide personalised support and guidance to farmers, addressing their inquiries and connecting them with relevant resources
- Prior background and experience in agriculture, farming, community engagement and/or customer relations
- Experience using and interpreting data for decision making
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
- Passion for agriculture, sustainability, and supporting farmer livelihoods
- Tertiary qualifications in agribusiness/agriculture, business, communications, or related field (preferred)
- Willingness to travel to meet with farmers and attend events as required
