About the role:
The Finance Assistant will provide accounting and financial administrative support services to the Finance Manager. They will ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Recording and processing of account payable transactions including: verifying invoices for payment; GL coding; setting up electronic transfers; sending remittance advices.
- Reconciliations of the Ngwala bank accounts.
- Recording and processing accounts receivable transactions
- Accessing online portals (eg Centrepay, FAC, Commbiz) and recording relevant transactions
- Maintenance of financial databases including for: Petty cash, parking permits, maintenance work
- Undertaking reconciliations and manage petty cash
- Maintain electronic and paper records efficiently and effectively & safely
- Perform other duties, which are incidental and peripheral to the main duties
- Be available to take up additional responsibility as directed by the Finance Manager or his/her delegate.

About you
Our ideal candidate will have the enthusiasm for record keeping and financial processes as well as:
- Formal qualification in Accounting or Bookkeeping and/or relevant training and experience;
- Experiece using Lightyear
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent Excel and database entry skills;
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, including the ability to set priorities and perform well under pressure;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team; and
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using MYOB is highly desirable
Mandatory Requirements:
- Driver's Licence
- National Police Check (no more than 3 months old)
- Current Victorian Employment Working With Children's Check
