As a finance and assurance officer you'll be supporting the optimal financial functioning of the State's disaster expenditure funding by performing assurance and auditing of natural disaster expenditure incurred by the government agencies, ensuring eligibility of NSW Government agency's reimbursement claims against the State's Disaster Relief Account and the State's claim to the Commonwealth. You will support the team by providing high quality reporting on state natural disaster expenditure.
We are looking for someone with

• Ability to comprehend audit processes and ensure the expenditure claims made by the NSW Government agencies meet the criteria set out in relevant guidelines and agreements.
• An in-depth understanding of the auditing standards, accounting standards, acquittal skills and reporting gained from practical and hands on experience.

You will

• Work collaboratively within the NSW Reconstruction Authority to ensure that processes and procedures are best practice.
• Liaise and communicate with other NSW Government entities and Commonwealth Government in relation to natural disaster expenditure assurance and audit issues and queries.
