The Finance Manager's role reports to the CEO and is pivotal to driving strong commercial decisions and ensuring the integrity of the financial accounts. The role has the versatile challenge of operating locally and reporting globally through the Goliath Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing accounting operations for Australia (AUS) & New Zealand (NZ).
- Managing month-end closing processes.
- Conducting financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Engaging with stakeholders including external auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, insurers, and foreign exchange dealers.
- Ensuring statutory compliance by liaising with regulatory bodies such as ATO, NSW Revenue, ASIC, and IRD in NZ.
- Overseeing year-end audit procedures.
- Serving as the finance liaison with the Goliath head office.
- Supervising payroll activities.
- Providing leadership and mentorship to a team of two finance personnel.
- Handling ad hoc tasks, including those related to human resources and information technology (IT).
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related field
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA)
- Financial analysis and business modelling - generating insight to drive commercial decisions
- Financial Reporting
- Leading budget and forecasting processes
- Preferred experience leading a divisional finance role for 5 or more years
- Strong literacy in the Microsoft suite of products
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 – Business Central preferred
- Adaptable and ability to work autonomously
- Commercially savvy dealing with customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies
