What's on offer?

We are seeking a passionate Finance Manager who is a team player to join our Newcastle Inner City Bypass Project Team onsite. Working closely with Transport for NSW this project comprises of 3.4kms of four-lane divided road with interchanges at Newcastle Road, Lookout Road and the John Hunter Hospital precinct. Upgrades to existing connecting roads, pedestrian bridge and underpass are included in the scope of works to complete. This $450 million project will provide essential infrastructure to the Newcastle community.

As a Finance Manager, you will have the ability to collaborate with the broader project team to achieve best for project financial outcomes. Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and monitor accounts processing ensuring the correct level of authorisation in accordance with company policy and legislation;
  • Manage the financial process of monthly subcontractor progress claims, supplier invoice processing, budget changes, forecasting etc;
  • Review weekly payment run batches and ensure actuals are correctly recorded in monthly ledgers;
  • Prepare and submit monthly project status reporting and project cash flow;
  • Identify and report Risk and Opportunities that need to be included in the projects reported position;
  • Provide cost analysis as required.

To be successful in the role, you will hold relevant accounting qualification and, ideally, have 3+ years' construction industry experience. Knowledge of JD Edwards accounting software, or similar, is highly advantageous. A proven ability to develop and contribute to an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork on the project and advanced communication skills will see you quickly build rapport with a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
