The Opportunity
We have a current vacancy for a full-time Finance Manager to join the team, based in Brisbane.
Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Manager is primarily responsible for providing strategic finance support to the CFO on financial management, accounting and statutory reporting, financial risk, and compliance of the business. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and analyse financial reports, budgets and forecasts in line with regular reporting periods, including month end and year end.
- Oversee Brisbane Finance & Admin operations, providing leadership, guidance and support
- Work closely with CFO to achieve company objectives.
- Identify financial opportunities for process improvement, leading initiatives to optimise financial efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organisational policies.
- Instill a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function, fostering an environment of accountability, learning, and improvement.
- Amend and maintain financial systems, procedures, and data to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with evolving organisational needs and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Manage cash flow, budgeting and financial planning processes.
- Manage and process weekly payroll in alignment with Award requirements.
- Conduct regular financial reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
- Provide financial analysis and guidance to management to support decision making.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Stay abreast of developments in the financial industry and recommend best practices to enhance the company’s financial performance.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- CPA / CA essential
- Previous experience leading and developing teams to deliver upon required outcomes
- Demonstrated understanding of financial principles, regulations and standards
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills that foster strong levels of collaboration and engagement across the organisation
- Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to work independently and efficiently
- Computer literate with Advanced Excel skills. Experience with Zoho, Phocas, Savvi or Fresh is advantageous
- Strong people leadership and management skills including coaching/developing others
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Flexible, with a positive can-do attitude
- Promote and support change management processes
- Exercise influence and develop strong relationships
