With Venues such as Choji Yakiniku, Hanasuki Shabu Shabu, Chef's Table and Kame house - The Azabu Hospitality Group is an up and coming Sydney Hospitality Group growing at a rapid pace and is in search of a Finance Manager to oversee the Financial aspects of the business.
The Finance Manager will oversee the financial and management reporting of the business (Food & Beverage and Retail) and work closely with the CFO and the Managing Director of the Group. The Finance Manager will be a key member of our Finance team, supporting our company's financial operations and strategic growth objectives. The individual will be responsible for various finance and accounting activities, including financial and management accounting, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, modelling, reporting, treasury, tax compliance and business analysis. They will also have a critical role in providing financial insights and advice to support our Food & Beverage and retail operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in financial and management accounting, modelling and excellent analytical abilities.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Management and ultimate responsibility for the Finance and Accounting department (Food & Beverage and Retail)
- Oversee and manage the month-end process including ensuring the completion of the general ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations and production of the P & L statements
- Preparation of monthly/ quarterly financial and management reporting
- Preparation of annual accounts for audit and annual statutory reporting
- Monitor the day-to-day financial operations such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions
- Complete tax returns and other statutory compliance requirements
- Provide financial and analytical support to senior management, CFO and Managing Director of the Group
- Compile and manage the annual budget with senior management
- Prepare and manage cashflow forecasting
- Guide and coach project managers and department directors to enhance financial literacy, including guidance with compiling project budgets, spending, reporting and forecasting
- Monitor financial details to ensure compliance of legal and loan covenant
- Develop financial models to provide forecasts and support strategic initiatives and investment decisions
- Collaborate with management team to analyse and improve financial performance across business units
- Develop, implement and monitor appropriate financial systems, procedures and internal controls to support the efficient and effective operation of the finance function in line with company policies and statutory requirements
- Develop strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of communications and resolution of issues
- Liaise with bankers, auditors, external tax accountants and tax authorities
- Lead and supervise a finance team
- Perform Ad Hoc Instructions from the CFO and Managing Director
Qualifications:
- Strong financial and management reporting and tax experience
- Knowledge of statutory legislation, regulations, and tax requirements in the Food & Beverage and retail sector
- Staff management experience
- Excellent analytical and modelling skills
- Excellent written and communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
- Attention to detail
- Confident dealing with senior stakeholders
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Experience with various accounting software (XERO, MYOB, SAP or Oracle)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and experience using budgeting, and forecasting tools
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant Accounting industry experience
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance or related field. Professional certifications (CA, CPA, CIMA) are highly desirable
- Proven work experience in a similar role, ideally in the Food & Beverage and retail sector
