The role
Overview of your key tasks:
- Prepare Monthly Project Cost Reports and associated analysis reports
- Produce and monitor transaction reports for Purchase Orders / Goods Received / Subcontractor & Supplier Invoices
- Assist procurement & engineering teams with accurately cost coding spend
- Participate in monthly cost reviews with PM of each Engineer’s Actual vs Planned cost status
- Assist Engineers with Forecast Cost to Complete calculations
- Prepare monthly Accrual Journals and associated Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Maintain Project Work Breakdown Structure codes
- Assist in preparation of Project Cash Flow Forecast
- Invoice the client as per head contract terms and timing requirements
- Closing contract costs on monthly basis
- Maintenance of project-related ledger accounts
- Maintain list of month-end deadlines
- Create and distribute month-end project reports to Project Manager and corporate BU
- Control project accounts payable and receivable tasks
- Preparation of Project working capital and Cash-flows
- Review project forecasts on a regular basis and resolve any outstanding matters promptly
About You
We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant - a team player with the following experience and capabilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
- Ideally a minimum 7+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Prior construction experience is essential (ideally on Projects greater than $100M)
- Prior experience with SAP would be ideal, but not essential.
- Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant qualified
- Advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage & improve on existing processes & procedures
- Ability to build rapport at all levels of the project but in particular with Managers, Engineers and the Finance team
