Finance Officer

We are seeking a suitably experienced Finance Officer who will be responsible for accounting functions. Your new company
Our client has been an aged care provider for more than 50 years in the South-Western Sydney area.
Your new role
The role requires supporting the accountant with a diverse range of aged care billing and accounts functions.
Key accountabilities:

• Admissions and discharges of residents and clients
• Processing monthly billing of aged care residents and clients
• Monthly subsidy reconciliations
• Responsibility for investigating funding variances with Service Australia
• Some general ledger reconciliations may include income and expense accounts, unspent funds, general accruals.
• Responding to billing queries from residents, resident representatives, clients, and client representatives.
• Processing of direct debits fortnightly, monthly, or ad hoc as required
• Debt collection for slow paying residential consumer and community consumer accounts
• Establishing Centre pay payments as required, including liaising with clients, and reviewing as necessary
• Reconciliation of corporate credit cards
• EFT processing weekly and processing of cheques as required.
• Ad hoc general ledger journals

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be responsible for the duties outlined above and will require the following:
Essential experience

• High level computer literacy, including experience using accounting software packages
• Experience in aged care billing is highly desirable.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to detail
• Experience working in Accounts Payable and Accounts receivable roles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to build a rapport with people from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
• The ability to prioritise time and organise work schedules.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
