About the program and role
The Escaping Violence Payment (EVP) is an Australian Government program that offers financial assistance and confidential support to people aged 18 years and above who have recently experienced intimate partner domestic violence. The program is designed to help people who have a changed living situation and are experiencing financial stress. The payment is available to people whose living situation has recently changed, or is about to change, because of intimate partner violence.
The EVP finance team consists of a Senior Finance Officer and three Finance Officers. The finance team is responsible in processing all forms of payments across the whole NSW/ACT EVP team in a timely manner in accordance with stipulated payment timeframes. The EVP finance team does not liaise directly with clients but would have strong collaborations with Caseworkers, Wesley Mission’s internal finance team and goods and services suppliers to ensure clients’ brokerage needs are met appropriately.

Essential Criteria
- minimum 12 months Financial Officer experience.
- demonstrated experience in:
- financial management systems and databases
- data collection
- accounts payable processes
- proficiency in financial management systems, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel & Outlook
- a solution- focused and detailed oriented approach
- ability to manage changing financial priorities and outcomes
- commitment to working 3 days (minimum) at the office
- Working with Children’s Check & criminal record history check

Desirable criteria
- experience with Wesley Mission processes including ‘PeopleSoft Finance’ software program.
- Goods and Services Tax knowledge and ATO requirements for payments.
