About the Opportunity
The Finance Officer works with all areas of the organisation to provide a customer-focused finance service that delivers innovative solutions and aims to improve practices. You would be responsible for:
- Management of the payment process including processing, system management and improvements, payments, remitting and reconciling
- Initiating computer payment runs to generate electronic funds transfer payments and BPAY Payments for regular suppliers and generate associated accounting reports
- Drafting journals for approval in accordance with Council's accounting procedures
- Routine investigation of specific accounting problems as directed
- Provide internal and external customer service including training and managing enquiries
- Maintain petty cash and process reimbursements
This role is a permanent, fulltime opportunity with a monthly ADO. Remuneration begins at $67K to $70K (Band 4) plus superannuation.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have the following experience/attributes:
- Relevant experience in a similar role.
- Excellent verbal, written and numerical abilities.
- Be capable of working independently and with high attention to detail
- Ensure processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Extensive use of computers and database maintenance.
- People focused and outcomes driven and be able to work with enthusiasm and in a positive manner.
