Job description

A member of small team, focussed on assisting the Corporate Site Accountant in maintaining accurate financial and operational records for BSR Group’s growing portfolio of wholesale and retail businesses.

You will need to be detail oriented and a highly organised person who can meet tight deadlines while navigating changing priorities.  

You will be a self-starter who thrives working independently and takes initiative within established guidelines. You will also enjoy working with others and be competent communicating with staff in a wide variety of roles from the CEO to the shop floor.

This is a newly created role, based at our office located near Brisbane Airport. 

This is a permanent full time position

Key responsibilities: 

  • Maintain operational records for various corporate sites in the corporate site system
  • Maintain financial records for various corporate sites in the accounting system
  • Accounts payable, stock receipting, payments and supplier statement reconciliations
  • Accounts receivable, sales receipting and occasional follow up of outstanding invoices
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Internal reporting to management and other interested parties
  • Telephone and email communication with suppliers, corporate site staff and other external parties
  • Assist the Corporate Site Accountant with preparation of monthly financial reporting
  • Completion of assigned daily, weekly and monthly tasks within agreed timeframes

Key Requirements 

  • Good knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable principals and procedures
  • Good knowledge of inventory record maintenance including purchasing, receipting, claims and stock adjustments
  • Experience preparing financial reconciliations, including resolving unexplained items
  • Confident using technology such as Microsoft Excel and multiple accounting systems
  • Analytical approach and attention to detail 
  • Good organisation, self-management and administration skills 
  • Good written & verbal communicator – effective, confident, polite, friendly, sociable
  • Maintain a customer service mindset 
  • Desire to develop new skills and improve processes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity and professionalism 
  • Ability to work autonomously but within in a small team environment
  • Can be relied upon to consistently meet monthly deadlines and payment due dates
  • Ability to strictly follow set processes, but quickly adaptable to change
