Financial Accountant

Trinity Mining Services and Supplies is in search of two (2) Financial Accountants for our esteemed client in sunny Townsville, Queensland. Stay committed to a Monday to Friday work schedule and contribute your expertise to this exciting role.Reporting to the Principal Business Analyst, this position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely project and corporate reporting for our valued client. As part of this role, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance and reporting for key areas including revenue and cost tracking on clients, capital projects, fixed assets, tenements, stock, and inventory accounting.

• Track costs on a project level to ensure budget adherence.
• Manage capital reporting, ensuring compliance with budgetary requirements.
• Oversee project budgets and provide comprehensive reports.
• Create detailed management reports and conduct cost analysis to help internal stakeholders gain a clear understanding of operating costs and the underlying factors driving them.
• Support in achieving compliance with government authorities such as ATO, ensuring accurate preparation of BAS, FBT, payroll tax, fuel tax rebate, mine rehabilitation fund (MRF) levy, withholding tax, and royalties for the group.
• Assist in maintaining the Master Chart of Accounts and project hierarchy to meet evolving business needs.
• Assist with external and internal audits.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing internal controls and review the effectiveness of existing controls.

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
• Successfully completed CPA, CA, or ICA.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting and finance.
• Proficient in preparing project cost-based reports.
• Familiarity with large ERP systems.
• Prior experience with SAP Fiori.
