This well established educational institute is looking to hire a Financial Accountant to sit within its accounting team.

This role reports directly to the Finance Manager and is supported by an Accounts Payable Officer. You will join a fast-paced and dynamic environment that provides ongoing support and opportunity to its employees.

Your new role

You will be interviewed for the role of Financial Accountant. Within this role your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Preparation of monthly Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet, including preparation of reconciliations, journals for month-end adjustments to ensure the GL is accurately maintained
• Preparation of monthly/quarterly Business Activity Statements
• Preparation of year-end accounts and working papers for audit
• Act as liaison between auditors to ensure a smooth annual audit process
• Detailed oversight and analytical review of fortnightly payroll payments and EBA’s
• Assistance in preparation of forecasts and annual budget
• Analyse, interrogate and interpret data to clearly articulate variances, trends, risks and opportunities through outstanding communication skills
• Preparation of all tax requirements including FBT, GST (including lodgement of BAS) and PAYG, for review by the Finance Manager
• Liaison with key budget stakeholders as required

What you'll need to succeed

You will have previous experience as a Financial Accountant and be CA/CPA qualified or close to qualification. Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills are required, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
