We have an exciting new opening for a qualified Financial Accountant to join our high performing group finance team. This position will report into the Finance Manager and supports the management and financial reporting requirements of the team.
Scope of role:
Financial reporting responsibilities include:
- Lease accounting with a lease portfolio annual spend of ~$40m and lease liability of ~$163m. This includes development and implementation of process improvements in this area.
- Assist with preparation of monthly Business Performance Report for the Board.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statement working papers and the supporting information pack for key executives (CFO and Investor Relations) at both half and year-end.
- Assist with the preparation of Risk and Audit Committee and Board papers for half-year and year-end.
- Review of other external market deliverables such as the investor presentation and media release.
- Maintain current knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax and other compliance requirements.
- Implement improvements to business processes, employing standardised solutions and leveraging available technology to deliver reporting efficiencies and lower cost outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Strategy & Development Manager to produce ad hoc analyses.
- Month-end review and close including P&L and balance sheet review.
- Preparation of monthly reporting to executive and business unit management.
- Preparation and presentation of the bi-annual stewardship review.
- Preparation of forecasts and budget, including review and liaison with executive and business unit management.
- Monthly asbestos accounting and related reporting to the Head of Legal.
- Oversee Group insurance recharge, including accounting and assessment of allocations.
- CA or CPA qualified accountant with at least 1 years' experience working in a similar sized business (this could be FMCG, manufacturing, engineering or pharmaceutical).
- Strong experience in statutory financial reporting. ASX reporting experience is desirable.
- Experience in auditing statutory financial reports of medium to large entities is desirable.
- Experience working with SAP is advantageous, particularly RE-FX module, or alternatively strong ERP knowledge.
- Advanced Excel skills.
