Role Overview:
As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in partnering with the business, providing invaluable commercial advice to our management team. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the financial reporting of the business, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information and offering strategic insights into our business processes and results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert financial advice and guidance to advance the Company towards achieving its strategic objectives.
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for the Company, ensuring adherence to month-end procedures and deadlines.
- Manage and coordinate activities of the general accounting function, including accurate forecasting and preparation of annual budgets.
- Drive the annual Management Plan process and manage year-end statutory requirements.
- Prepare and lodge Company tax filings in Australia and provide support to the Management Team for financial development.
- Make critical decisions impacting the strategic direction of the business and ensure timely reporting to Group Level.
- Provide insight and reports on internally measured KPIs, assisting executives in decision-making.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial information and implement internal controls to minimise risk.
- Manage the Company's Insurance program, review commercial contracts, and mitigate inherent business risks.
- Lead the finance team, ensuring efficient delivery of functions while adhering to industry best practices.
- Design and document internal controls, optimise asset utilisation, and provide insightful reports to enhance business performance.
- Liaise with external parties including auditors, legal advisors, and key suppliers, and manage the annual financial audit process.
Required Experience:
- CPA/CA qualification with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior accounting role.
- Proficient in data analysis, Excel, and report development to provide valuable management information.
- Strong relationship building, negotiation skills, and achievement orientation.
- Ability to thrive in a large multinational environment and experience in leadership and team development.
