The Role
The role joins their head office with stand-alone financial accountant responsibility. They need an experienced finance professional with the ability to take on the overarching responsibility for organising and controlling the accounting tasks and duties. The role is both ‘hands on’ and strategic, firstly focusing on the businesses financial and accounting maintenance, ensuring accurate and current financial reporting is being generated and supplied to management and the Board, and secondly working closely with the Executive to respond and contribute to business improvement.

You will be responsible for:
- Review and analysis of Company performance, while providing useful commentary
- Generate all reporting requirements on profitability and performance
- Accurate financial data (actual, forecasts, and budgets)
- Forex reporting and relevant treasury functions and cashflow management.
- All the required financial obligations such as BAS, GL reconciliations, debtor reports, AP/AR, cash, asset management, FBT, GST, payroll tax, leave accruals, Super, etc.
- Adherence to all reporting deadlines (monthly and EOY)
- Board reporting and potentially Company Secretarial duties
The Person
You will be an ‘allrounder’, with ability to conduct the nuts and bolts of finance system but able to engage with the Executive on financial analysis, financial strategy, and opportunities for improvements in the business.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- completed or working towards a CPA or CA
- +5 years’ commercial experience
- experience in accounting/ERP software (ideally AgTech/Grainsmart)
- have an affinity for or an agricultural background
- exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- high degree of competency with Microsoft Excel
