About the Role:
As a key member of our client's team, you'll report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, driving efforts to ensure the finance department's long-term success. Your role will involve providing comprehensive financial and management accounting services, overseeing procurement, and contributing to financial planning and control. Your leadership will be essential in motivating the team to meet organizational objectives.

We're seeking a leader with strong interpersonal skills, solid leadership acumen, and the ability to inspire teams. Your expertise in developing and implementing financial systems and controls, in compliance with accounting standards and legislation, will be crucial. You'll offer strategic guidance on budgeting, financial performance, and emerging trends, while taking corrective actions to safeguard resources.
Key Requirements:
- A degree in finance or accounting
- Membership in the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA Australia) or Institute of Chartered Accountants (Australia)
- In-depth knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Regulations, and relevant legislation
- Proven leadership experience at a departmental level
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
- Experience in developing strategies, policies, and internal controls
- Proficiency in CiA T1 Financials (TechOne) development and implementation, including business intelligence tools
- Previous Local Government Experience
