We currently have an outstanding 8 month contract opportunity for a qualified finance professional to join as our Financial Controller and lead key operational processes in the commercial Finance team based out of AstraZeneca head office in Sydney.
What you will do
As the country Financial Controller you will provide specialist finance expertise to ANZ, ensuring that statutory reporting requirements and local tax requirements are fully in line with local legal requirements (ANZ IFRS and Tax legislation) and AZ accounting principles and standards. This role is a unique opportunity to establish yourself as a valuable partner to the business, providing recommendations and actively managing risk within the business.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Office, you will lead activities related to key controllership matters including tax, statutory and management reporting, internal control environment, cash and treasury, ANZ and global projects. You will maintain relationships with our global finance shared services team, ensure compliance with AZ Accounting Policies, provide professional stewardship of the company’s cash, support roll out of global projects at ANZ level, and establish yourself as a trusted Financial Controller of the business.
Essential for the role:
- CPA/CA or equivalent qualification and experience in a similar finance leadership role within a regulated industry
- Ability to operate successfully as a trusted adviser across the business
- Strong numerical, analytical and interpersonal skills
- In-depth understanding of regulatory/statutory requirements and governance principles, IFRS knowledge
- Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively across the wider organisation
- Experience working with senior management locally and with global/regional teams in a matrix environment
