What you'll be doing:
You will drive, inspire, empower and lead a team within the broader Finance group, cross skilling and mentoring staff to promote and support expertise within the team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is based in Sydney.
You will be instrumental in driving our financial, management, transactional and compliance reporting functions whilst taking the lead on our systems, processes and internal controls. You will ideally have experience in leading and motivating a team and driving process improvement while delivering strong financial reporting.
Your superior communication skills is a must as you will work with a number of stakeholders including Executives, Directors, Auditors and external agencies including various tax offices in Australia and abroad. This is a “hands on” role, you will be pivotal in managing the function and have involvement in all the key aspects of reporting and compliance relating to the role. You will have the opportunity to broaden your skillset and make an impact in providing solutions to create a seamless finance function.

You’ll be responsible for:
- Driving high performance through leading and coaching your team and provide guidance and support
- Coordinating the month end process, producing Management and Board reporting packs for the consolidated Group and Divisional businesses including variance analysis and insightful commentary
- Preparing financial statements for AU and UK in accordance with global Accounting Standards
- Tax compliance and submissions, Research and Development claims and administering Transfer Pricing across different group entities
- Managing and directing transactional functions covering global billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and Payroll
- Partnering with the business to evaluate, interpret and integrate financial information to improve management and cost control of their business units
- Identifying opportunities to maximise revenue and reduce leakage/costs by understanding business drivers
- Subject matter expert on reporting and analytics and best practice of use of data regarding business decisions.
Do you have what it takes? You’ll need:
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to adapt to change
- Commerce/Accounting degree qualified
- 5-10 years post CA/CPA qualified, tax experience highly regarded
- Proven experience in transaction processing, financial control and systems administration
- Demonstrated skill in leading and mentoring teams
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work across multiple streams in a high paced environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups and ability to manage large volumes of data to provide meaningful information
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills to work with internal and external stakeholders
