Position Overview:
As the financial Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Commercial department's Training business unit. This leadership role reports directly to the CEO and contributes to the company's strategic direction. The Financial Controller will play a vital role in driving growth, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
- Oversee financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
- Strategic Financial Planning:
- Work closely with senior management to develop financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth.
- Forecasting and Projections:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for performance projections.
- Provide accurate and timely financial forecasts, considering various scenarios.
- Budgeting and Variance Analysis:
- Collaborate with department heads to create annual budgets.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide insights for management.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Utilize BI tools for financial data analysis and interpretation.
- Provide insights to support strategic decision-making processes.
- Reporting and Dashboard Creation:
- Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards for senior management.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of comprehensive financial reports.
- Data Governance and Quality:
- Establish and enforce data governance policies to maintain data accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with IT to address data quality issues.
- Investment Analysis:
- Evaluate investment opportunities through financial modelling.
- Present findings to the executive team, offering insights into potential risks and returns.
- Scenario Planning:
- Develop and analyze financial models for different business scenarios.
- Assess the financial impact of strategic options to guide business plans.
- Team Leadership/Business Partnering:
- Lead and mentor the finance team.
- Work closely with stakeholders to achieve organizational outcomes.

- CA or CPA qualified with at least 10 years' experience in management accounting or business advisory.
- Demonstrated experience in a fast-growing business.
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial contract management experience.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Salesforce desirable.
- Valid Driver’s License and Australian Work Visa.
