About the role
St Anthony's Catholic College, Deeragun is seeking an experienced and dedicated First Nations Education - Administration Officer for their Secondary Campus (Assisi) to commence as soon as practicable. The position is a Term Time, FixedTerm position completing 18 hours per week for the remainder of the 2024 school year.
The role of The First Nations Education - Administration Officer is responsible for providing high level administrative support demonstrating a high level of self-initiative, flexibility, attention to detail, autonomy and dependability.
The First Nations Education - Administration Officer will provide administrative support and assist with Curriculum, Projects and liaise with Pastoral Coordinators within the First Nations Team. The position primarily services the secondary campus (Year 7-12), Assisi and requires cross functional collaboration with the primary campus, Padua at St Anthony’s Catholic College for planning of events and transition of Year 6 students.
Key Accountabilities
The First Nations Education - Administration Officer will represent the school in a professional, warm, friendly and efficient manner.
The Key Accountabilities are as follows but not limited to, and may vary based on the First Nations Education Team needs.
Support the delivery of operational tasks associated with First Nations Education Team:
- Communicate key professional development opportunities to staff, e.g., Indigenous Spirituality, Culturally Responsive Pedagogies, Cross Curricular Priorities, Indigenous Perspectives, Indigenous STEM, Stronger Smarter.
- Provide Information on Key Indigenous dates.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Reconciliation Action Plan, Racism policy and School Improvement Plans.
Provide administrative support to Leadership, Teachers, and Students on First Nations Education Programs:
- Provide information for families and visitors regarding First Nations Programs
- Coordinate general administrative task management such as answering phones, email and calendar management.
- Maintain data bases and the management of related files, track important dates and deadlines.
Provide media and event assistance for the First Nations Education Team:
- Prepare, organise and coordinate events, e.g., NAIDOC and Reconciliation Week, including the communication, travel for students, catering for staff, students and their families. Liaise with external stakeholders for related events under the direction of the Deputy Principal - Student Services.
- Coordinate dissemination of information for the First Nations Education Team to staff and students using the schools systems and related platforms. E.g., Compass, student notices, social media, SMS, Newsletter and First Nations Education website.
- Provide digital image management for First Nation events.
Assist with data reporting, tracking and financial preparation for the First Nations Education Team:
- Assist with processing of managing financial components and data tracking for related programs, e.g., Indigenous STEM, QATSIF, ATSIMS and Emerging Leaders (EL).
- Maintain administrative systems and records.
- Prepare orders and supplies including compile, comparison of quotes, prices and costing options for resources and facilities.

Mandatory Criteria
- Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government.
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Minimum certificate level or higher qualification or equivalent relevant experience
- Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
Desirably Criteria
- Recent administration and/or experience in a school or other related environment.
