Located in the heart of the North Sydney CBD, View Sydney is a 213 room upscale hotel with an al a carte restaurant, cocktail bar and seven conference rooms. We are looking for an experienced Food & Beverage professional to lead the operation from the front, work with our partners and drive the team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Food and Beverage Manager will be a visible leader and promoter of change by maintaining awareness of industry trends, consumer feedback and new business opportunities, and will build a culture of excellence in all facets of the department. The Food & Beverage Manager will provide leadership and guidance to team members while ensuring operational requirements are met and guest satisfaction is constantly achieved.
Key Objectives:
- Oversee Food & Beverage operations in the outlets and event spaces, reporting and reconciliation of daily activities.
- Rostering of all F&B staff to efficiently to cover legislative requirements whilst minimizing wage cost
- Manage, motivate and mentor all F&B staff to ensure quality service is received by all Hotel guests at all times.
- Liaise with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure the efficient operation of the kitchen and production of quality menus that are designed to suit the business and achieve budgeted food costs.
- Liaise with the Sales & Events team to ensure the efficient execution of all events held in the Hotel
- Initiate in conjunction with the Operations Manager promotional concepts and ideas for all F&B outlets to drive sales revenues, increase cover spend and reduce operating costs.
- Accountability for department budget
What you will need to have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Catering Management or Hospitality Management (ideal)
- Current RSA certification and food handling certificate.
- A minimum 2 years in a supervisory role of a high volume Hotel Food & Beverage operation with demonstrated career progression.
- A foodie with a passion for great food, wine, cocktails and beverages
- Proficient in the use of PMS and other related software applications
- Demonstrable track record of success in a customer service environment
- Outstanding communication skills & fluent English
- High attention to detail
