- Prepare and bake breads, pastries and signature products in line with brand recipes
- Be capable of managing dough mixing from scratch, shaping and oven work
- Ensure quality and presentation of all baked products are of the highest standards, including merchandising
- Supervise and train Bakers, Junior Bakers, Apprentice Bakers and Bakers Assistants
- Oversee and maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Maintain knowledge of new products, equipment and baking procedures
- Assist the Production Manager to develop and maintain production sheets and dough schedules, and implement them in the bakery operations
- Monitor and control the speed of production for timely preparation and quantity required
- Participate and compete in internal Bakers Delight baking competitions
- Participate in baking workshops and forums when required
- Certificate III in Retail Baking (Bread), or 3 years apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in the industry
- Leadership, communication skills and ability to mentor juniors
- Working knowledge in food handling, hygiene, sanitation and WHS
Shifts are on a rotating roster basis.
