Form of workWe are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Village Handyperson and Maintenance staff member to join our team at Sanctuary Cove. As the Village Handyperson and Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks in our village across our community including retail, office and Marina and Recreation Club . Your role will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation and appearance of the village facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting, to keep the village facilities in excellent condition.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and common areas to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly.
- Respond to maintenance requests from residents and staff in a timely manner,and resolve issues efficiently.
- Carry out routine repairs and maintenance tasks, including fixing broken fixtures, replacing light bulbs, and repairing appliances.
- Assist with landscaping duties, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, and maintaining gardens.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, and report any deficiencies or needs for restocking.
- Coordinate with external contractors when specialized repairs or maintenance work is required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and provide reports as necessary.
- Support other staff members and contribute to the overall cleanliness and attractiveness of the village.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in maintenance work, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labour.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to work in compliance with them.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to work independently or as part of a team.
