Sealanes is a subsidiary of Superior Food Group. Due to the continual growth of our organisation, we are currently seeking applications for an experienced Processing Assistant to be based in South Fremantle.
Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced General Hand (training provided) – Processing Assistant to join our Processing Team in South Fremantle. The chosen applicant either has prior seafood industry expertise or is eager to learn a new skill (freshers are welcome to apply ) and manage seafood, stock rotation, and must be a good team player.
Your day-to-day routine will look something like this:
- Pick packing
- Breaking down pallets
- General hand labouring
- Knife skills (training provided)
- Scaling salmon
- Safe food handling practices
- Stock control of product processed
- Maintain the tools and equipment you’ll be using including knives and other equipment.
- Cleaning and trimming the carcasses to prepare them for the rest of the processing operation
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
All about you:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role or training will be provided for the right candidate
- Forklift licence is preferred
- Display a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be physically fit and strong
- Understand all aspects of OH&S compliance and manual handling.
- Ability to learn a broad range of products quickly.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
